Making Better Choices
By Wendy Collier, B. Ed.
“Every day is an opportunity for me to make better choices.”
This affirmation presented itself one morning as I was repeating my usual affirmations that help jump start my day. It inspired me to make better choices that day and every day since.
I felt empowered to make new choices. I felt more confident, happier, and more certain of my choices and ultimately my decisions. It helped me put the past behind me and get my focus on the present day.
This affirmation evolved into a question I ask myself daily, “What can I do to make a better choice?” It’s a powerful question, especially when faced with a difficult decision or challenging situation. Affirmations and questions help me get back my healthy perspective and puts my mind in the gear of “possibility thinking” instead of negative thinking.
I have been using affirmations for the past 15 years. It’s always amazing to me how effective they are in helping me to reframe things and focus on the positive. They’ve helped me operate from a place of power rather than a place of indecision and helplessness. Affirmations are a positive statement you say to yourself over and over.
So, your mission, should you choose to accept it is..., to memorize this affirmation and say it to yourself 3 times in a row, as many times as you can during the day.
Then, watch as you begin to see yourself making better choices for you and your life. Notice how much more self-assured you feel and less doubtful of those choices. Be conscious of how your confidence in yourself and your life begin to change and move towards a more positive outlook.
“You have the power within you to make better choices.”
Enjoy your journey,
